Ross:  How do I hit a driver off the fairway?  My attempts usually result in shots the shortstop would have a tough time fielding, but wouldn't do much for a golf score.  Thanks.

Well, first I'd say 95% of golfers would do much better hitting a 3 wood or Hybrid, but for some, the key is to meet the ball exactly at the bottom of the swing arc, with the shaft in line with your front arm.  That will give you a loft (launch angle) = to the loft of the club face... give or take the center of precision (sweet spot) offset, that the design has changed.  In other words... hit 3 wood or less and find another way to make birdie.

Thank you.  That is good wisdom.  Occasionally I find myself in a situation like a scramble or the end of a match where Driver from the turf is called for.  Not very often but once in a  great while.
